We always feel lucky here on the Costa de la Luz as we are so near to so many wonderful places.

From Sevilla, Cadiz, Jerez, Gibraltar and Tangiers are all an easy day trip as are the many pueblo blancos to be found in the interior.

So if you you want a bit of culture or day away from the beach, we would recommend you to take an excursion to one of the places below:

Visit Morrocco

Same architecture..different people! Tangiers is just a 45 min boat trip away and is the gateway to Africa. Get a taste by visiting the Medina, riding a camel eating authentic cos cos and of course coming away with some real bargains!

Visit Cadiz.

An interesting city famed for it´s watch towers built on many of the houses in the old merchant quarter. Cadiz is great for beaches, shopping and tapas. Also take a trip up the Torre tavira to vist the camera oscura for a real roof top view.

Visit Jerez

Famed for it´s wine and it´s horses. Whilst in Jerez you can visit one of it´s bodegas where they produce their world famous sherries, or go to the Andalucian horse show to see how a horse should be ridden!

Visit Sevilla

Our favourite city in Spain. Wide tree lined avenues, beautiful arcitecture and tropical parks right in the middle of a city. Sevilla is how all cities should be but never are. Don´t visit in August though... you´ll fry!

Visit Tarifa

Tarifa is a chic town, with great beaches, that has been firmly placed onthe map due to it´s fantastic windsurfing and kitesurfing conditions. A young hip place where you´ll find great bars clubs and surf shops.

Here is the ferry terminal for catching the Catamaran to Tangiers.

Visit Medina Sedonia

Fancy a bit of Spanish history? Then go and visit the church in Medina Sedonia and climb the bell tower for a great view of the Andalucian interior. To be honest I find visiting churches a bit of a bore.,but this one is actually very interesting and a really amazing building to visit,..whatever your religious view point.
