The
beaches.
The
best thing about this area without a doubt are the miles of
unspoilt beaches to be found. Below is a list of a few of
our favourites though I´m sure you´ll be able
to discover more....

|
Barbate
Playa
de Carmen (approx 10mins from the house)

|
Playa
del Carmen is the main beach in Barbate. It´s great for
families, safe, clean with parking nearby. There are a whole
range of bars and resturaunts right next to the sand. |
|
Yerbabuena
(approx 10mins from the house)
A
much much quieter beach in Barbate a 5 min walk from the vilage
right next to the harbour. Very safe and very tranquil.

Los
Caños de meca
Los
Caños de meca consists of many different coves and
beaches leading up to the famous Cape Trafalgar. The beaches
really are quite beatiful with turquise water and golden sand.
The
beach furtherset to the East is a nudist beach whilst the
beaches more towards the lighthouse are popular with windsurfers
and Kitesurfers.
If
you don´t mind a 10 min walk then you can find hidden
coves in between the rocks of Cape Trafalgar. There are some
fantastic rock pools for the kids as well as natural baths.
There
are a few shops and bars around here.

|
Cape
Trafalgar (Approx 10 mins from the house)
Further
along on the other side of the lighthouse is this beautiful
long stretch of beach. It´s a 5 min walk from where
you can park..but well worth the effort as is often empty
and has cystal clear water.
Be
carful of the currents here though!

|

|
Mangueta
(approx 5mins from the house)
Maungueta
beach is our favourite beach and the closest to the house!.
Another wild spot, there are no bars or shops here so remember
to back drinks and a picnic. The track down can be bumpy but
again well worth the effort and it really does feel like one
of the last unspoilt beaches in Spain.

|
|
|
El
Palmar(approx 12mins from the house)
A
family beach , popular with the locals from Vejer .
El
palmar is a long expanse of sand stretching or the way to
Conil de la Frontera. Safe for kids, with life guards in the
summer. it also has some nice bars and shops to buy a picnic
and a few good quality returaunts.

|
|

|
Conil
Fontanilla
(approx 15mins from the house)
Fontanilla
beach is the locals beach in the summer for the town of Conil
de la frontera.
Very
clean, flat and great for beach games. There are some lovely
returaunts right on the foot of the sand..a great location
for a sunset meal whilst the kids carry on playing on the
beach.
|
|
|
|
Fuente
de Gallo (Approx 15mins from the house)
Further
along from Conil you can find "Fuente de Gallo"
a nice beach with high cliffs and rocks in the sea to swim
to. There are a few hotels near this beach so it can get a
bit more crowded, though there is always a quet spot you can
find.
|

|
|
|
|

|
Las
Calas de Conil (approx 20mins from the house)
The
best beahes in Conil. There are four or five different coves
past the harbour. A walk down some steep steps and you will
discover some of the most beautiful spots in Europe. Sheltered
from the wind and very private.
|
|
|
|
Zahara
de los Atunes (approx 20mins from the house)
Back
towards Barbate and beyond the military area which has kept
the normal urban development under control a range of lovely
beaches can be found laeding to the quiet fishing village
of Zahara de los Atunes. Here you can find nice , shops resturaunts
and bars looking out onto the white sand and fishing boats
of Zahara.
|

|
|
|
 |
Atlanterra(
approx 30mins from the house)
A
bay behind the village of Zahara where the famous and wealthy

The beach is outstanding, parking is good but no shops here
